Known as the Great Dane; one of the best high-stakes players in the world
THE LINEUP
Gus Hansen is usually known as a loose, aggressive player. With all these beautiful women around Hansen must've been distracted, because he was playing fairly tight most of the week. All of the ladies followed suit, as it was a tight match from start to finish. All players made it to the fourth night of play, with JJ Liu the first to bust out when her A-8 ran into Hansen's pair of ladies.
Hansen was the next to hit the rail. After surviving consecutive all-ins, his luck ran out when he was caught making a move by Vanessa Rousso. Rousso went on to take out the next two players as well, busting Erica Schoenberg with A-Q versus K-8 and Beth Shak with pocket Queens versus pocket 8s. This left Rousso to take on Clonie Gowen. Rousso started heads-up play with nearly a four to one chip lead and finished off Gowen very quickly when she rivered two-pair versus Gowen's busted straight draw. Rousso took down her first Poker After Dark title and $120K in prize money.
