Known as the Great Dane; one of the best high-stakes players in the world
THE LINEUP
In the premier match of Poker After Dark, 10-time WSOP champion Phil Hellmuth fell early, but not before losing his cool in an massive , albeit not entirely unusual, way. Focusing his frustration primarily on Shawn Sheikhan, Phil bolted from the game while still in play. After a long delay, Phil returned only to be immediately knocked out by none other than Sheikhan himself. Suffice to say, he was not pleased.
Though tempers eventually cooled down, the action did not. Gus Hansen altered his famously aggressive style and slow played Steve Zolotow out of the game. Huckelberry Seed took out the Sheik next, and Annie Duke fell to Gus Hansen’s superior play - and a little luck.
Hansen and Seed were the last men standing. Both consider the other a good friend away from the table, but all that goes away with $120K on the line.
