POKER AFTER DARK IS A FLUSH WITH THE FANS

THE LINEUP

This match started off with Phil Hellmuth trying to take control of the action. Too bad the cards weren't cooperating with him. The cards, however, were coming Phil Ivey's way. Getting premium hands early and often, Ivey became the chip leader and looked determined not to let go of that status. Gus Hansen came close in the middle of the week, building up his chip stack with his aggressive style of play. No players were eliminated until the fourth night, when short stack Jennifer Harman was forced to push all-in with a weak hand, and was taken down by Ivey's pocket Jacks. Five players remained heading into the final evening, with the chip stacks relatively even. But as the blinds went up, the action was on. Ivey took down Hansen and Chris Ferguson, who was quiet and cardless all week, in rapid fire succession. Hellmuth was next to go, as he took a nasty beat from Howard Lederer.  Ivey had the chips going into heads-up play and looked strong. The Professor put Ivey to the test, but in the end Ivey made a fantastic call to send Lederer back to school.
