The 19th hole started off tight, with none of the players getting into any big pots. Phil Ivey took control of the action on the second day, knocking off David Oppenheim and Erick Lindgren in rapid succession. At that point, he had over half the chips in play and looked to be unstoppable. A lot of small-pot poker was played for the next two nights, with all four remaining players making it to the final day of play.
Friday saw two players make quick exits. Daniel Negreanu was the first to go after losing most of his chips to fellow Canadian Gavin Smith, then busting out versus Ivey on the very next hand. Doyle Brunson was next on the chopping block, as he lost a coin flip to Smith with K-J versus Smith's pocket 4s. That left Ivey and Smith to duke it out heads-up, with Ivey the big chip leader. But Smith fought back, getting lucky and hitting a flush on the river to double up. A few hands later, Smith made a full house versus Ivey's top pair and that was all she wrote.
