THE LINEUP
Word on the set was that these hecklers were trying to get under each other's skin an hour before the match got under way. It didn't take long before the fireworks went off, as Phil Hellmuth and Jean-Robert Bellande got into a classic argument over table etiquette.
Mike Matusow was the first player to be silenced, first running his 9s into Hellmuth's Kings to cripple his stack, and then going out a few hands later with the same pocket pair against Shawn Sheikhan's Queens. Sheiky was the chip leader most of the week, even before he went on a heater during the fourth day of play and eliminated both Sam Grizzle and Gavin Smith.
Hellmuth took out Bellande on the final day of play, setting up an epic heads-up battle between him and Sheiky. The Poker Brat was a big underdog, but managed a comeback to even things out after Sheiky won the first seven hands heads-up. Finally, Sheikhan pushed all-in with A-J and was called by Hellmuth with Q-2, who promptly flopped one deuce and turned another to put away his second Poker After Dark victory.
