"WORLD CHAMPIONS"

POKER AFTER DARK IS A FLUSH WITH THE FANS

THE LINEUP

World Champions week got off to a quick start with Huckleberry Seed being very aggressive. But Seed took a rough beat from Johnny Chan when his trips were bested by Chan making a flush on the river and was left crippled. He hung on for a couple more nights before getting busted by Jamie Gold.

The remaining five players made it to last night of play, with almost everyone holding the chip lead at some point in a very tight match. There's a reason these players are all former champions. Chris Ferguson literally let the flip of a coin make his decision for him in a big hand, but was the next to go when he lost a coin flip to Chan. Berry Johnston played, tight solid poker all week, but also busted out after losing a coin flip to Chan. Gold was then stuck in the middle between Chan and Phil Hellmuth, who laid a bad beat on Gold and sent him to the rail.

Heads-up play was a rematch of the final two in the 1989 Main Event, but it wouldn't last long. Chan flopped two pair on the first hand, ending Hellmuth's quest for a third Poker After Dark title.
