THE LINEUP
This week's match started with action aplenty as Howard Lederer announced to the table that he had a plane to catch, and proceeded to lose a big pot early to Robert Williamson. Phil Gordon was also crippled early when his top two pair ran into Chad Brown's straight.
Howard made his flight as the first player eliminated and the five remaining players made it to Thursday night, but Chad Brown knocked out Phil Gordon and Robert Williamson in quick succession to rapidly narrow the field. Mark Gregorich came from nowhere into the thick of the action, doubling up through Ali Nejad, then winning two consecutive all-ins against Brown to eliminate him and go into heads-up play.
Ali was looking for the ultimate revenge to his sixth-place finish in his previous Poker After Dark showing, but it wasn't to be. Mark had the chip lead and the momentum, making quick work of Ali to capture a win and the $120K first-place prize in his first Poker After Dark appearance.
