Four-time WSOP bracelet winner and the 2005 WSOP Player of the Year
THE LINEUP
The first ever cash game on Poker After Dark got off to slow start as the player mostly felt each other out on the first night of play. Online sensation Tom “Durrrr” Dwan proved to be the most aggressive player in the bunch, controlling much of the action. Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth had a very bad second night of play, losing a couple of large pots before giving the rest of his chips to Allen Cunningham in a set-over-set hand. Hellmuth was steamed so badly by losing this hand that he decided to take a long walk after re-buying into the game for another $100K.
Play proceeded on night three with Hellmuth missing much of the action. He returned just in time to bluff his rival Dwan out of a big pot. The action picked up tremendously on the final two nights of play with multiple pots over $100K, including the game’s biggest pot of $326K won by David “Viffer” Peat.
