"HEADS-UP CHALLENGE"

POKER AFTER DARK IS A FLUSH WITH THE FANS

THE LINEUP

This was Poker After Dark's first Heads-Up Challenge. The first match pitted Chris Ferguson against Paul Wasicka, with Ferguson emerging victorious. The next match featured Phil Hellmuth taking on Ted Forrest, with Hellmuth coming out on top. Next up the losers of the first round matches, Waskicka and Forrest, played an elimination match to see who would move on to the next round, with Forrest getting very lucky on two occasions to take the match. It was then time for the highly anticipated rematch of the 2005 NHPC finals, with Ferguson taking on Hellmuth, with Hellmuth making quick work of Ferguson and moving on to the finals. Ferguson was then forced to play Forrest for the final spot in the finals, but Forrest had run out of luck and Ferguson moved on to play Hellmuth one more time. It was an epic final match, with the ultra-aggressive style of Ferguson clashing with the trapping style employed by Hellmuth. But, in the end, it was Hellmuth catching all the cards and taking home the $200K winner-take-all first-place prize.
