If poker was a polite game, it wouldn't be very exciting. Of course, there was little risk of that in this match.
Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow and Tony G are famous for their bad behavior, but if that was all they brought to the table, they wouldn't be the top players they are.
Phil Ivey effectively blocked out their racket, and got off to an early chip lead. Sam Farha, who was first to exit, went all in against Ivey in a play he probably wouldn't have made if there hadn't been so much noise. The next to go were Phil Hellmuth and Andy Bloch. Hellmuth let his own frustration get the better of him, and Bloch could never get enough chips to effectively take on Ivey. That was the problem Matusow faced as well. He had knocked out Tony G, but he couldn't steal chips away from Ivey fast enough. In the end, Matusow was trying to hold back an Ivey-tsunami but there wasn't enough time to turn the tide.
