THE LINEUP
When push came to shove, it helped to have a big hand rather than a big mouth. The match started with the men trying to control the “hot air” game. Filling the exclusive card room with their chatter, they were either trying to set the pace or they just loved the sound of their voices. Firmly affixed in the latter camp, Matusow was silenced on the third night after he lost a coin flip with Esfandiari. Matusow had Ace-6 going into the flop against the Magician’s King-Jack. Esfandiari pulled a flush out of his hat and the race was over. Rousso started her comeback by doubling up through Esfandiari, then busting him on the next hand. Both times Esfandiari held pocket 6s. After Rousso showed Bellande the door it was down to just the adults. Grey, Harman and Rousso each held the chip lead at various times, but Rousso had something more important – momentum. In the end she, busted four out of six players and took home $120K.
