It seemed the Nets and the Vets were prepared to take the other side to school, but both camps learned some expensive lessons. The Vets struck first after Caby threw $6K in the middle holding A-K and Elezra flopped a set of Jacks. Elezra eventually went all in and Caby backed down, but it was one of the few times the Nets could be intimidated. Kaplan added $33K to a pot holding only a pair of 6s. Benefield held Kings and walked away with $97K. Brunson made the same mistake against South, betting $30K with only 10 high. South and his Aces took away $71K. But the bluff ended up saving Texas Dolly’s hide against Benefield. “Raptor” had flopped trip-6s and Brunson raised $40K with a pair of Kings. Benefield paused and Brunson asked, “Forget what you had?” Benefield asked the ten-time bracelet winner if he could beat three sixes. But for all its advantages, the internet is a poor place read faces, especially one as experienced as Doyle’s, and Benefield threw away his winning hand.
