Dwan’s forecast that he’d lose a million dollars was as reliable as the predictions of most TV weathermen. Money rained on the 22-year-old poker prodigy and there’s an 80% chance it would continue into next week’s cash game. Dwan’s aggressive play scared pros off pots all week long. Tired of being run over, the pros would try to set traps, but Durrr would slip through them, rivering flushes and sets like he could see through the bottom of the deck. Poker is a game as complex as chess, but the pros seemed to appreciate turning off their brains and letting the chips fall where they may for $100-a-man coin flips. For Antonius and Hansen, that meant dragging $500K and $400 pots respectively. But as alluring as Lady Luck was, she turned out to be a passing flirtation. The most exciting hands of the week didn’t have the biggest pots, instead they were tense duals between tough competitors. For pros like these, they’d much rather lose $100K in a coin flip than lose $20K for making a bad call.
