Kwickfish
Paul Wasicka - A big fish in a small pond
It takes a certain kind of man to win over $6 million in a tournament and still be disappointed in his play. Ladies and gentlemen, meet Paul "Kwickfish" Wasicka. Paul finished second in the 2006 WSOP Main Event to Jamie Gold for that huge payday, but still thinks it should have been even bigger.
Paul has always been fiercely competitive. A member of his Junior High chess club, Paul chose to play High School students because it presented a greater challenge. In high school, Paul used that competitive spirit to play in five different sports.
After school, Paul was introduced to Internet poker by a friend. He quickly realized that playing cards for a living might be the perfect way to keep that competitive edge sharp. Putting hours of work into his game, Paul built up a bankroll that allowed him to make the leap from Internet to live poker.
Not many people have made such a successful leap. Paul had a huge 2006 WSOP, including his second-place finish in the Main Event, and announced himself to the world as a poker force to be reckoned with. His 2007 has included high finishes at the Aussie Millions and L.A. Poker Classic, as well as taking down the National Heads-Up Championship.
Now it's time for Paul to play on
Poker After Dark, where his competitive spirit should be right at home.
