Renowned game theorist Steve “The Bald Eagle” Zolotow has been a game player his whole life.
Starting back in 1965, Steve Z's primary interest was backgammon, then sports betting, before delving seriously into the pro poker circuit in 1988. That was the year he finished fifth in the World Series of Poker $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha tournament. In the years to come, he would earn bracelets for winning the 1995 Chinese Poker tournament and for taking the 2001 $3,000 Pot-Limit Hold 'em tournament. Today, his total live tournament winnings exceed $1.4 million.
Because Steve started as a cash-game player, he developed a solid, disciplined playing style. Steve has cashed 30 times in World Series of Poker events. In addition, he's cashed in six World Poker Tour tournaments, including two final table appearances. Recently, he finished third in the televised "FullTiltPoker.Net Global Poker Challenge."
