More than most, Jason Alexander has made a lot out of nothing
Jason Alexander is best known for his starring role on Seinfeld, where he played a character who is neurotic, self-obsessed, stingy, dishonest, insecure, immoral, obsessive, pessimistic, insincere ... well, you get the general idea.
Jason’s characterization of George Costanza is one of the most memorable TV performances of all time and it earned him a string of Emmy and Golden Globe nominations. He was recognized by his peers with three Screen Actors Guild awards.
While Alexander is best known for Seinfeld, he is also an accomplished voice, cinema, and musical theatre actor. Alexander got his start on Broadway, starring in multiple Stephen Sondheim productions. In 1989 Alexander received the Tony Award for "Best Actor in a Musical.” His movie credits include Pretty Woman, Coneheads, and Shallow Hal. A huge Star Trek fan, Alexander appeared on Star Trek: Voyager and presided over William Shatner’s celebrity roast.
Recently, Alexander has been working on his poker skills. He’s appeared on Pro-Am Poker Equalizer and played several times on the Celebrity Poker Showdown, ultimately winning in the show’s eighth season. Alexander donated his winnings to the New Orleans United Way Fund, something that would’ve made George Costanza go completely bald.
