The pros in this week’s $50K buy-in cash game have logged years of table-time together. Spend that long sitting elbow-to-elbow with someone and you get to know them pretty well. They’ve seen how the other pros play and how they respond to pressure. They’ve had front-row seats to each other’s successes and failures. And like guys who’ve survived combat together, they are a band of brothers - quick to call each other friends. But like the saying goes, with friends like these who needs enemies. They like to horse around, but at the same time they line up each other in their sights, measuring every expression on their face and inflection in their voice, waiting for the right moment to pull the trigger. And these pros, Ferguson, Matusow, Adams, Brunson, Hellmuth and Esfandiari are marksmen. And if it’s true that man is the most dangerous game, getting close to your target might be the only way to get the upper hand.
